Mangkuk Dunia 2010 Update #15

Gelson Fernandes Goal Shocks La Furia Roja !!!

Gelson Fernandes' scrappy second-half goal gave Switzerland a shock 1-0 victory over World Cup favourites Spain in their Group H opener in Durban. Despite the Spaniards dominating possession, the Swiss took a surprise lead in the 52nd minute with Fernandes firing past goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Scrappy goal? Fernandes didn't care. They didn't care. Win is what they care. Cayalah Swiss !

Yes, they deserved to celebrate like hell. Well organized. Defensively no nonsense. Clap-clap!

Could you imagine how sad they will be after this lost? Tu lah, jangan suka sangat.

Macam biasa, gosip-gosip before match.
Errr..what were you doing, Villa?

The winning team
Back row from left: goalkeeper Diego Benaglio, Eren Derdiyok, Stephane Grichting, Philippe Senderos, Blaise Nkufo, and Benjamin Huggel. Front row from left: Gokhan Inler, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Reto Ziegler, Tranquillo Barnetta and Gelson Fernandes.

What a performance, they battled, they hung on, and in the end achieved a result no one thought was possible. Well done Switzerland!

Switzerland will now go into the rest of the group stage full of confidence. They'll fancy their chances against Chile and Honduras after seeing off the European Champions.
