An impressive Chile side defeated Honduras 1-0 in the opening game of World Cup Group H at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit. Jean Beausejour scored the only goal of the game in the 34th minute in a match that was more one-sided than the scoreline suggests.

Ultimately Chile were wasteful in attack but they will go into Monday's clash with Switzerland full of confidence after a strong performance.
As for Honduras. Well, they will do very well to get a point at this World Cup having played like that. Admittedly they were missing the injured Suazo in attack, but with Spain also in Group H Honduras could be in for a torrid campaign.
