Keisuke Honda's 39th minute goal was enough to give Japan a 1-0 victory over Group E rivals Cameroon in Bloemfontein. Honda's close-range strike was one of the few highlights of an utterly forgettable game.
A deep cross from the left from Daisuke Matsui went over the head of Nicolas Nkoulou and Stephane Mbia was sucked in on the cover, allowing the CSKA Moscow midfielder to bring the ball down crisply and tuck home a neat finish.
Honda "Nama gua pon Honda bhaii, mesti la laju. See ya!"
Eto "Meet me in my room after this. Make sure you take a shower first. Wangi-wangi sikit taw"
*Hubungan songsang tidak mengenal warna kulit.
Front row from left, Daisuke Matsui, Yasuhito Endo, Yuto Nagatomo, Yuichi Komano, Yoshito Okubo, Yoshito Okubo, Makoto Hasebe, back row from left, goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima, Yuki Abe, Yuji Nakazawa, Marcus Tulio Tanaka, and Keisuke Honda
What a strange game that was. Japan offered next to nothing going forward but grabbed a vital goal while Cameroon looked far better in most departments but couldn't find a cutting edge. Why Eto'o spent the entire 90 minutes on the right wing I'll never know.
